Well the archery season has opened here in Montana. We have had really wet weather with snow for the past 2 weeks, but this weekend is supposed to be clear. There are a lot of black bear out there, I have seen a lot of elk but they are really spooky and highly mobile as the wolves have been tearing them to pieces. In some herds, there are no surviving calves at all. A liberal judge in the pocket of eco-terrorists and animal rightists has put the wolves back into protected status, However, Montana was far sighted enough that we do have statutes on the books where we can still kill them in some situations. I have seen some really good mule deer out there and some very good whitetail, and the antelope populations are very strong. Bottom line, should be something to shoot at out there in spite of the greens misbegotten interference. Good Hunting all!
