Venison Shepard’s Pie
1 lb. Venison Cubed. 1 can Cream of Mushroom soup 1 can Cream of Celery soup 2 cans mixed vegetables drained Mashed potatoes minced garlic 1 med. chopped onion 1 small can of mushrooms Bouillon cube salt & pepper Shredded cheese - cheddar or colby
Preheat oven to 350 Degrees.
Brown the venison with the onion and mushrooms. Mix the Venison, soups and mixed vegetables together with the seasonings. Place in an Casserole dish. Add a layer of mashed potatoes to the top of the dish. Cover the dish and bake for about 45 minutes.
Remove from oven, add a sprinkling of cheese to top of mashed potatoes, uncover and return to oven for 10-15 minutes or until cheese is melted. Serve with hot biscuits and salad. This is a good way to use up left over mashed potatoes.
For a variation you may add some chopped green pepper to the venison when you brown it.
This one can be done in a dutch oven over a campfire too. Actually prefer it that way.
