;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D The Prairie Dogs and Gophers, (Richardson's Ground Squirrels), are now out in full force here! My Father and 8 year old Nephew and I went out Saturday afternoon for a couple hours. Boy can you waste a lot of ammunition! The rifle barrels get hot, the stacks of brass pile up at your stand, and you get to make some spectacular shots! (usually by accedent ) Dogs are a lot bigger than gophers, so you have to use heavier cartridges on them, like 223 or 22-250. Hitting a target that is only about 8 inches tall at 200 yards is a trip! And if you miss, don't worry, there are THOUSANDS more. Out here, in some places the ranchers and farmers will actually supply you with 22 ammunition if you shoot the gophers off their place! This is the only kind of shooting I know where you can shoot until your 22 is so fouled you can't shoot anymore, and you have fun with every shot! Spring is finally here!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Now that makes a fun afternoon!
