Last weekend we headed up a back road looking for tracks & got all most to the top of a hill when the truck started spinning & took off like a sled backwards. I told my buddy to hang on. Luckily it only slid about 200 ft & stopped before it hit anything. It was facing up hill on solid ice. If I would of backed up any more I would of been in a ditch. I tried to go but it just spun, I cut the wheel back & forth & when I cut it to the left the front spun right around facing down the hill & we just drove right out. We then went to another area to look for tracks & slid in a ditch. I kept trying to go forward & back & couldn't get out. I was really aggravated & I got out to survey the situation. We done some shoveling & I got back in put the truck in low lock & tried again then BANG. I never pulled the E-brake. I got out of the ditch but was loosing brake fluid. I got it home & heard a noise in the rear end a few times. I could tell I was loosing fluid for the wheel cylinder. I pulled the wheel & there was lots of brake parts everywhere. It cleaned off the backing plate, even bent the brake shoe. Took the cover off the rear end so I could pull the axle & noticed that a tooth was gone off the spider gear. Not a good day hunting.
