Congrats Cas
And now for the rest of the story
I sent my 2 hunting buddies out to cut off a section where the coyotes usually cross. Adam went to the edge of a field & left the rifle in the truck & took his shotgun Mike went down & stood along the road at a decent crossing. Both of these guys like to talk on the radios, I told them to quit talking & pay attention the yote was coming there way. The first yote busted across the field & Adam gave him a few warning shots. The yote was out about 150 yards & heading straight for the truck. Mike took off up the road toward the truck & managed to get with in 90 yards & gave him another warning shot. I told them to stay put there might be a second one. Well Mike starting yakking on the radio & he looked up & 40 yards away stood the second yote looking at him. He went for the gun & the yote went for river hill. He managed to get 3 rounds off but he never touched it. We ran for another hour but never got to see it again.

We ended up with two more that weekend. We had alot of guys with us so it really helps cover all the crossing areas. Knock on wood, we've had really good work out of the dogs and it helps that we're getting better as hunters - learning where they run and being prepared. I do agree with you that there is way too much talking on the radios. I like to turn mine off as soon as the dogs open.
