Who eats 'em? ? I love them!! Fried with taters, sauteed phez and leeks, great stuffed in a spring gobbler........good stuff!! Another week or so & I'll be picking a mess. Still a bit small.

Here's a closer shot of them: They're easy to identify, have a dark green fairly broad, flat leaf....almost always grow in groups & are found in moister areas. Can't mistake them once you pick one, just smell it, it will have a strong oniony odor. Don't bother if the leaves are yellowing, it will be tough by then, they only last a month or so. (very short growing season)

Around here they are called ramps. I like them, but when I eat them I have to stay away from everyone.

i like them stuffed in fresh trout with butter! i just stuff the trout with them and butter ,wrap it all up in foil and cook on the grill! most times i make a seperate pack of just leeks in butter cuz the amount ya can fit in a trout just aint enuff for a good feed!
