Has anyone tried any good deer lures? (not bait) I have never tried any but this year I'm going to start. I'll be trying one called ButterNut. Just something to attract and try to get them to stop in the area I choose. Anything to advance my quest to take one with a bow!!

I think i've tried them all, it's not so much the scent used as the time of year you use it, just don't use an estrous scent early in the season, a food based scent may work for you if it's natural to the area....jsb

I use the border crossing scents ! Early in the yr i use deer herd in a stick! It looks like stick deodarant and you just rub it on a tree............They also make a good estrous scent but i havent used it yet!

just remembor the thing with scents of not to over do it! if you can smell it the deer has a way better scence of smell and may tend to spook off of scents that seem to strong!
