Got our first double today. Talked to the guys last night Mike, Adam, Steve & Mike L. They all said they wanted to hunt. We meet at our usual spot at 7 & only Mike L. Adam & myself showed up. Me & Adam had already covered 1 section of roads with no tracks. We decided since it was only 3 of us that we would take a ride to see if we could cut any tracks. We started out & Trapper Mike called & said he slept in. I told him to check the roads by his house. He called back within a couple of minutes & said he had a track. We met up with him & I took the dogs (Sticker & Razzle) in on the track. The other guys came in from different directions. After about a half hour they jumped it. It made several circles & was coming right for me when it must of heard me or something & turned straight away & ran straight up to Adam. He downed it. I called the guys & told them I had another track bring the dogs down. Trapper Mike met up with Adam & brought the dogs I cut them on the track & they followed them but I could tell it wasn't too fresh. Me & Mike started wading through the snow (2 ft) looking for another track. We met up with Mike L.(Ball less Mike-long story) He hadn't found anything. Adam checked the Garmin & drove over with in 150 yards of the dogs. I told him to go ahead & call them in. They was only 100 yards from him when they jumped another one. The race was on. after several bay ups & several circles I finally spotted the yote sneaking down a creek bottom. I got a hole in it. We tracked it to where it crawled up under a log. I could see it was still alive. Trapper Mike said I'll get it. see pictures below. Good day, great running. Sticker & Razzle did one he!! of a job.
