Could only find one track this morning & it was headed into a huge section. After checking some of our better spots we decided to try it. Just me & Steve hunting today. I turned Sticker & the pup out then we rode up the road where we could listen for them to open. Sure enough it wasn't long & we could hear them on the other hill. I told Steve to take the truck around the mountain to the other side, I went in on foot. This is a rough piece to hunt probably 8 to 10 thousand acres. All hill rock & briar's. I made it to the top & I could hear the dogs baying for a minute & off they go again down toward my house. I started across the top of the ridge toward them & they circled a few times about 500 yards away. Then went straight for the other road where Steve was. They had a check, Sticker slipped out silent & the pup never got with him. Steve was taking a leak gun still in truck in the back seat, he never thought it would come that way. Truck door wide open with the dinger ringing & looked up & there was the yote 50 yards in front of him with it's tongue hanging out. He put his junk away, got the gun out, loaded it & shot the yote as Sticker was coming off the hill. The yote was still flopping when Sticker got there. The pup worked the check out on his own & ran the track to the dead yote. Since I'm too cheap to buy a new camera, here's some more crappy pics from my cell phone.
